Vamsee awards for Mahesh Babu, Bhoomika

HYDERABAD: Star performances by Mahesh Babu in the films ‘Athadu’ (2005), ‘Pokiri’ (2006) and Athithi (2007) fetched him a hat-trick, bagging the Vamsee awards for all the three years.
The films also yielded awards for the best film and best directors – Trivikram Srinivas, Puri Jagannadh and Surender Reddy, respectively.
At a press conference here on Monday, Vamsee International Film Awards Committee Chairman, P. Vijaya Babu, said actress Bhoomika was selected as best actress for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007 for her outstanding performance in the movies – ‘Jai Chiranjeeva’, ‘Maya Bazaar’ and ‘Anasuya Satyabhama’.
The awards will be given away in December. Awards will also be presented to the film producer D. Ramanaidu, superstar Krishna and his wife Vijaya Nirmala, actor Rajendra Prasad and comedian Brahmanandam. The Vamsee Film Awards were being presented for the last 26 years, he said.
