Striking a bargain: Visitors looking at the picture frames at a stall at The Hindu - Eenadu Lifestyle Show in Visakhapatnam. — VISAKHAPATNAM: For a change, the place that resembles Mumbai’s Sivaji Park with numerous cricket teams slogging it out, wore a festive look for the last five days. The Andhra University Engineering College Grounds, where the second edition of The Hindu-Eenadu Lifestyle Show was held from October 2 to 6, turned out to be the destination for over 35,000 Vizagites. People from all walks of life trooped to the venue to get a feel of the latest trends in lifestyle. In the weekend, the 40,000 sq.ft., centrally air-conditioned canopy proved to be insufficient to accommodate the rush. Families were seen hopping from one stall to another, making enquiries and purchases. In all there were over 120 stalls. After making a complete tour of the show, a majority of them were seen at the food court, satiating their palate with mouth-watering dishes. Most of the visitors found it unique to hit upon numerous brands from various segments like automobile, house appliances, fashion textiles, IT products, real estate, eatables, furniture and home decors under one-roof. In the home décors segment the visitors were thrilled to find wall hangings made up of real fresh flowers. The artworks were made up of preserved fresh flowers, which were treated chemically and tastefully framed, to give the look of a painting. The stall also exhibited lampshades and tabletops made of preserved flowers, leaves and coconut skin. The stall that displayed replicas of Raja Ravi Varma’s works and Tanjore paintings also saw a steady stream of visitors. A stall showcasing curios and handicrafts made of wood and copper from Jaipur was also eye-catching. Keeping in tune with the changing lifestyle, Jaimenee Electricals, showcased a variety of burglar alarms, biometric door locks, fire and general alarm systems and video door phones, manufactured by Zicom Electronic Security Systems. Original crystal chandeliers, lampshades and wall lamps were other attractions at the stall. “All the crystals are imported from Egypt,” said the representative of Jaimenee Electricals. HighlightAnother stall that captured the imagination of Vizagites was that of World Build Maart. The stall displayed trendy steam houses, shower rooms, shower panels and shower columns. Prem Kumar of World Build Maart said that the glass-panelled steam rooms are fitted with steam jets, Jacuzzi, foot massagers and shower columns that are fitted with two or three variants of shower system with hot and cold water combination. The rooms are made up of fibre moulds and Tuflon glass and can be dismantled, moved and fitted inside bathrooms with ease. While the presenting sponsor of the event was Samsung, it was co-sponsored by HP, Compaq, Sun DTH Services, Agrigold and Jayaraj International Private Limited. The hospitality partner was The Gateway Hotel, food partner was Fusion Foods, Water partner was Bisleri, channel partner was Etv2 and Radio partner was 93.5 SFM. Many visitors hoped that the lifestyle show would return next year with more number of stalls and products under one-roof.
