Talk on how to prepare for placement

COIMBATORE: A lecture by S. Venkateswaran, Manager – Human Resource, Caritor India Private Limited, Chennai, on “How to Prepare Yourself for Placement" was organised at the Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology.

He spoke on the ingredients for taking challenges head on.

He also spoke on the various stages involved in the interview process, viz., testing of basics in mathematics, English and logical thinking, précis writing, communication skills, and technical knowledge.

Career guidance

Cargomar Institute of Shipping and Logistics with Rotary Club of Coimbatore Manchester conducted a career guidance seminar at the CSI Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science.

Career opportunities in logistics, soft skills, personality development and communication skills were covered.

Participants were told that logistics earlier known to be as a job of transportation, had redefined itself now and manifests itself into various dimensions.

Video studio

The Electronics and Media Technology Department of Karunya University has opened a full-fledged television and audio studio to train students.

Babu, Station Head, Hello FM, said the studio facility would help in training the students in television / audio production.

The studio was inaugurated by Chancellor Paul Dinakaran.

It was established at a cost of Rs. 1.88 crore.

It is likely to turn into a linking station for the television channels.

Awareness campaign

The Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, organised an awareness campaign against pollution and smoking.

The vehicle campaign was termed “Pugai Namakku Pagai”.

It was sponsored by the Rotaract Club of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women.

The anti-smoking campaign vehicle was manned by the department students.

They went around the city spreading the anti-smoking message.

Quiz

The ICFAI National College organised Quiz IT recently at the college premises at Stock Exchange Building for undergraduates.

Students were tested on their cyber skills.

D. Elango, Principal, Bishop Ambrose College of Arts and Science, gave away the prizes to the winners of the quiz.
