Ex-Commissioner of Gudur civic body convicted in ACB case

HYDERABAD: The Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nellore, has convicted E.N. Rosappa, former Gudur Municipal Commissioner, and K. Subbarayudu, former Assistant Engineer, and sentenced them to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and fined Rs.2,000 for offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act. A press release issued by ACB here said the judge also sentenced them to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay Rs.2,000 as fine for the offence under Section 13 (2) read with Section 13 (1) (d) of the Act. Earlier, the two officials were trapped by ACB when they demanded and accepted Rs.1,200 and Rs.1,000 respectively.
