KOZHIKODE: Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri, lyricist, inaugurated the non-stage items of the CBSE Malabar Sahodaya Kalotsav at the Apex Public School at Erahnimavu in the district on Monday. A total of 2,750 students from 42 CBSE schools in Kozhikode, Malappuram and Wayanad districts are attending the kalotsav. The non-stage times will continue on Tuesday. The stage items of the Kalotsav will be held at the Dayapuram Residential School on October 11 and 12. Anup Kuruvilla John, city police commissioner will inaugurate the stage items at 9 a.m. at the Dayapuram Residential School on October 11. The inaugural function on Monday was presided over by Malabar Sahodaya president Mariam Gboy Tharyan. George M. Thomas, MLA delivered the key note address. Kalotsav joint general convenor A.K. Abdulla and M.T. Muhammad Ali, secretary, Malabar Sahodaya were among those who spoke on the occasion. The Kalotsav consist of 131 items in five categories. The five categories are kiddies (classes 1 and 2); category-1 (classes 3 and 4); category-2 (classes 5,6 and 7); category-3 (classes 8,9 and 10) and category-4 (classes 11 and 12). All the talented students who get first place, except in the kiddies category, would be eligible to participate in the State Kalotsav.
