KATHMANDU: Three adventurers skydived from above the world’s tallest peak, Mount Everest, on Saturday.

Wendy Smith (New Zealand), Neil Jones (Canada) and Holly Budge (Britain) dived from 29,500 ft — 2,500 ft higher than the 27,000ft-tall Mount Everest — and landed at 12,350 ft in Shyangoche, the highest Drop Zone in the world, at the first Everest Skydive 2008. This is the first time skydiving has been organised in the Himalayan country, which has eight out of the world’s 10 tallest mountains.
