Two scribes attacked, cameras damaged

KRISHNAGIRI: Two scribes of vernacular newspapers were attacked by some people in Krishnagiri district on Sunday.

C. Murugesan, district correspondent of ‘Theekadir,’ and V. Iyappan of a Telugu daily ‘Shakshi Patrika’ were attacked by the locals when they tried to take photographs of a group clash in Ittikal Agaram village near Krishnagiri. They also damaged their cameras.

Five persons, including the scribes, were admitted to the Krishnagiri Government General Hospital. Revenue Divisional Officer Sambasivam and Tahsildhar Chokkan visited the hospital. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
