40 students miss examination
Staff Reporter
TIRUCHI: A group of over 40 students who had assembled for the common examination of the Bharathidasan University meant for determining the university-level ranking for the various UG and PG programmes were not permitted to appear as their applications had not yet reached the university, according to official sources.
The university had identified the first 20 rank-holders in each subject from affiliated colleges, and the first two rank holders in each subject from every autonomous college for the common examination. As per the university communication, the applications of the students had to be forwarded through the respective principals before September 28. Disappointment was writ large on the faces of students who were left out. There were several top-scorers among them, and hence they felt that the common examination without their participation will not be valid. University sources said the principals ought to have ensured that the applications were despatched in time.
