Three arrested

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: Three persons, allegedly selling gold-coated ornaments as gold to credulous people, were arrested by the Task Force police on Sunday at Peda Gantyada Junction. According to sub-inspector Anand Reddy, the three would offer gold-coated ornaments like ‘vaddanam’ and beaded chains at a relatively cheaper price stating it was found somewhere by them. To help ascertain the genuineness of the ornaments, they would offer pieces from gold ornaments they have with them. As the sample was genuine, the gullible would buy the gold-coated ones from them.

Gorle Krishna and Velluri Sattibabu from Hiramandalam in Srikakulam district and Kagitada Srinu from Pendurthy in the city were arrested while trying their trick and handed over to the Port police. The first two were involved in five, six cases of cheating in Srikakulam district.
