The expo presents a well compiled display of everything that the festive season demands


Regional Saras-2008 expo open till October 12

More than 290 stalls representing 14 different States




Expo time: Shoppers throng Regional Saras-2008 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road.

HYDERABAD: The People’s Plaza at Necklace Road is abuzz with shoppers these days. The Regional Saras-2008 which has brought together a well compiled display of everything that a festive season demands has turned into a shopper’s paradise.

Varied exhibits

The wide and varied exhibits range from wood and cane furniture and décor items to handcrafted bracelets from Haryana to apparel selections from Kerala.

More than 290 stalls representing 14 different States have come up with their best products and from sandal incense sticks to the latest designs in earrings can be browsed here.

There are table lamps, colourful lamp shades and other bright paraphernalia meant for living rooms, while those keen on wood and cane material can check several stalls including the one from Bilasipara, Assam which has everything from small wall hanging to a sofa-set.

Stalls from Puducherry has some good diyas, well etched holders and moving onto the ones from Kerala, one can look around for both dress material as well as saris in traditional colours and patterns.

The motifs in brass from Madhya Pradesh too are varied in design and make. Small table tops to big corner pieces, one can scout for elephants, horses and not to be missed are aesthetically done products such as the chess board in brass.

Terracotta and other décor pieces too are lined up outside the main hall. The expo is open till October 12.
