CHENNAI: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), together with the South Indian Film Exporters Association, will conduct a seminar on ‘Growing Power of Regional Cinema’ in Chennai on October 7.

It will focus on the key areas of digital technology and discuss corporatisation, effective marketing and distribution of films in India and abroad. The session on regulation will address issues of regulation, taxation, piracy and the Cinematography Act. Speakers will also deliberate on the emerging financing options such as venture capital, private equity, bonds, insurances and debt financing.

In a release issued on Sunday, T.G. Thiagarajan, co-chairman, CII Tamil Nadu Task Force on Tamil Nadu Cinema, said the regional cinema industry was making rapid strides, and a conducive regulatory framework must be put in place to help the regional cinema industry move to a high growth trajectory.
