IGNOU’s new initiative

NEW DELHI: The mobile study centre scheme of Indira Gandhi National Open University has taken off the ground, IGNOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai announced on Sunday. The scheme has resulted in enhanced participation and according to information also resulted in student attendance going up to 80 per cent.

The Dindori study centre in Madhya Pradesh has been converted into mobile study centre. This is for the Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme in which students will get counselling. The idea of the centre had originated keeping in view the criteria of cost effectiveness as well as enhancing the access of education to the under-privileged.
