Jayalalithaa to unveil MGR statue

CHENNAI: The AIADMK will organise public meetings across the State between October 17 and 19 in connection with the 37th anniversary of the party.

In a statement here, party general secretary Jayalalithaa said she would unveil the statue of party founder MGR at Rasipuram on October 17. It will be followed by a public meeting.

She said her party would organise an agitation at Rajapalayam on October 7 to protest against frequent power cuts, which have affected the livelihood of weavers in Virudhunagar district. — Special Correspondent
