GADAG: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has said the Government will release the required funds for the 2nd phase of the project to provide drinking water to Gadag city by drawing water from the Tungabhadra. He was speaking at the mass marriage organised by the Sriramulu Balaga in Gadag on Saturday where 2,001 couples tied the knot. Mr. Yeddyurappa said that Gadag would be developed as a model district in the next four years. He said that the State Government had already paid its share for the railway broad gauge conversion between Gadag and Bagalkot and urged the railway authorities to complete the work at the earliest. Revenue Minister G. Karunkara Reddy, Minister for Public Works C.M. Udasi, Health Minister B. Sriramulu, and MPs Pralhad Joshi and P.C. Gaddigoudra addressed the gathering at the event.
