India goes down fighting

NEW DELHI: India went down 2-5 to Korea in its first Group ‘B’ match of the AFC under-16 football championship at Tashkent on Saturday.

According to information received here, India did well to contain Korea in the first half and conceded one goal in the first session.

Early goal

The Koreans struck in the third minute of the match through Kim Dong Jin.

India conceded an early goal in the second half when Rim Chang Wo beat the defence in the 52nd minute.

The other scorers for Korea were Lee Chang, who scored a brace and Son Heung Min.

For India, Lalrindika scored both the goals from free-kicks in the 69th and 88th minute.
