Bonus for TNEB employees

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Electricity Board employees will be paid a bonus of 8.33 per cent and ex gratia of 11.67 per cent for 2007-2008. This has been decided considering the Board’s financial position, according to Electricity Minister N. Veeraswami.

A total of 69,556 employees will benefit. Also, 14,760 contract labourers and 5627 part-time workers will be paid ex gratia of Rs.1000. The Board will incur an expenditure of Rs.60.47 crore, the Minister said. — Special Correspondent
