SHIMOGA: The president of the City Municipal Council M. Shankar said here on Saturday that nearly 20,000 applications seeking houses and sites under the Ashraya Scheme were yet to be disposed of. Mr. Shankar said that the Revenue Department had identified 30 acres land for the purpose of developing Ashraya layout. He said that Karnataka Slum Board Development Corporation would build houses on 700 sites. He said that they had received 415 petitions during the last two ‘Janaspandana’ programmes. The programme would not be held on the second Saturday of this month, he said.
