Palestinian leader coming

NEW DELHI: President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas, accompanied by Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki and other senior officials, will pay a four-day state visit to India from October 6.
During his visit, Mr. Abbas will meet President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Vice-President Hamid Ansari, United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition L.K. Advani and Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed.
Gift from India
Mr. Abbas will also lay the foundation stone of the Chancery-cum-Residence complex of the Embassy of Palestine, being built by India as a gift.
