Surana, Vijaya College advance

BANGALORE: Surana and Vijaya College romped through to the semifinal league in the boys section of the M.C. Srinivasan Memorial junior collegiate basketball tournament. Surana downed FAPS 55-33, while Vijaya outplayed M.S. Ramaiah Junior 38-10.

In the girls section, Christ College proved too hot for Mount Carmel winning 39-15, while SBM Jain trounced Bishop Cotton 45-29.

The results: Boys: Surana 55 (Radhakrishna 18, Lokesh 10) bt FAPS 33 (Tarun 11, Rudra 10); Vijaya 38 (Harsha 14, Praveen 14) bt M.S. Ramaiah 10; FAPS 36 (Anmol 15, Rudra 10) bt National Public 31 (Akshay 22). Girls: Christ 39 (Rashmi 8) bt Mount Carmel 15 (Swathi 8); SBM Jain 45 (N. Sandhya 24, Sushmita 8) bt Bishop Cotton 29 (Rithika 11, Anchal 10).
