KADAPA: A Swedish couple Jan Kukum and Ulla Kukum spent Gandhi Jayanti with orphan inmates of Aarthi Home near Kadapa municipal stadium on Thursday. The couple assured to fund a classroom in a school being run in Aarthi Home to be named after their daughter Ellen Kukum, who enlightened them about the home. Founder-president of the Home and Vijay Foundation Trust P.V. Sandhya explained the activities of the home and said the home aimed at ensuring educational development of children and providing them job opportunities. Trust secretary P. Bali Reddy called for contributions from philanthropists and assured to name the classrooms after the donors. The inmates performed cultural programmes. A science exhibition was also organised. Meanwhile, ING Vysya Bank manager K. Narayana provided lunch and distributed fruits among the inmates of Aarthi Home and Padma Disabled and Development Society at Prakashnagar on Gandhi Jayanti.
