FACING JUSTICE: Police escort Sukhi and Manjeet Singh, alias Jolly, accused in the alleged molestation of a German woman, who surrendered before a court in Chandigarh on Wednesday. CHANDIGARH: Two young men, identified as Sukhi and Manjeet Singh, allegedly involved in the kidnapping and molestation of a 20-year-old German girl, surrendered before a court here on Wednesday. Two other suspects, identified as Pankaj Punia and Harpreet, had been arrested by the Chandigarh police on Monday and Tuesday from Ambala in Haryana. The police now have intensified the search for the fifth accused, identified as Sompal. All five accused belong to Ambala district. The German girl, who had come to Chandigarh to attend a friend’s marriage, had gone to the Taj Hotel to have coffee on Saturday night. She was reportedly kidnapped from the hotel’s parking lot in a Scorpio vehicle when she had gone out to smoke. In her complaint she had alleged that she was taken to several places and molested before her kidnappers dropped her back in Chandigarh. The police are still awaiting the report of the Central Forensic Science Lab which will confirm whether the girl was raped or not. A case of attempt to rape has already been registered against the suspects.
