CII welcomes government move

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has welcomed the State government’s move to include 10 additional essential cooking ingredients at subsidised prices through the Public Distribution System.

CII- Tamil Nadu Chairman, Manikam Ramaswami, in a press release issued on Wednesday, said the confederation strongly believed that a comprehensive, well-equipped and well-run PDS scheme was the right answer to insulate the poor man from the impact of high inflation.

Comprehensive study

The CII was working closely with the government to conduct a comprehensive study on the PDS, including enhancing customer satisfaction in the PDS outlets.
