YSR to hold meetings with party leaders

HYDERABAD: In a bid to gear up the Congress party for the next elections, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has decided to hold Assembly constituency-wise meetings to understand the field situation by taking firsthand account from respective leaders from Thursday.

Even as other political parties have plunged headlong to forge alliances, the Congress party is preparing itself to hold constituency-wise meetings to get first hand information about the ground reality in the State.

Dr. Reddy will first hold a meeting with Mines and Geology Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, representing Chevella constituency, and Ranga Reddy DCC president K. M. Pratap.

The Chief Minister will conduct the meetings for two hours from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. besides talking to important leaders through teleconference.

Over the next 30 days, the Chief Minister will complete interaction with the leaders of 150 Assembly constituencies and ask them to hold similar meetings with he APCC president D. Srinivas. Attention would also be paid to constituencies where the party does not have representation.

Talk of alliances, and emergence of Praja Rajyam Party, are some of the issues which will prominently figure in these daily discussions.

Dr. Reddy conducted similar meetings before the bye-elections in May and made sure that ‘disappointed aspirants’ too worked for the party in as many constituencies as possible.
