VISAKHAPATNAM: On an invitation from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, a team from Hatch Technip, Malaysian consultants of Koniambo Nickel Projects visited Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels (BHPV) on Wednesday. This is a significant move for improving the order book position of BHPV, which became a holding company of BHEL on May 10. BHPV Executive Director P. Phalgun Rao received Malaysian delegates Jude Anthony Adhiban and O.P. Murali at the Lova Gardens site, a seafront fabrication facility owned by BHPV. The delegates were shown the fabrication points of the site, barge loading platform and additional barging facility that can be utilised on requirement explaining the strengths of BHPV—BHEL combine on fabrication facilities, a release said. Mr. Rao said Hatch Technip was interested in modularisation of power plant boiler components, which exactly suited the BHEL and BHPV product line. The Malaysian delegation expressed interest in huge seafront site owned by BHPV and its technical and fabrication strengths and the port facilities. Senior officials of BHPV later gave a power-point presentation on modularisation technology. A.L. Venugopal and M. Sai Babu, General Manager and Deputy GM of BHPV accompanied the delegation.
