IIT Kharagpur calling

VISAKHAPATNAM: IIT Kharagpur has sought students from B-schools and technical institutes to take part in Kshitij--2009 – the annual techno-management festival from January 29 to February 1.

Students from the IIT are touring various institutes in the city and other places explaining about various events being conducted during the festival. Details can be obtained by contacting Team Kshitij at contacts@ktj.in or by visiting http://www.ktj.in. Registration is done online.

Representatives from 350 institutions from India and abroad including IITs, IIMs, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, NUS (Singapore) and Kyoto University are expected to take part. In all, 45 events will be doncuted with guest lectures and workshops in a span of four days with prize money of Rs. 35 lakhs.

Lectures will be delivered by Prof. Lawrence M. Krauss, author of international bestseller Physics of Star Trek, M.C. Mehta, Ramon Magsaysay awardee and others. An exhibition of various 3-D structures formation using two rings of ling and complex geometrical motions will be the highlight.

The deadline for the first round of submissions for many of the events is December 16.

A taxpayer’s assistance cell (Help Desk) has been created in the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of Service Tax at MVP Colony, according to Assistant Commissioner (Service Tax), Division-I.

All the service tax assesses can contact either in person or through telephone to address their queries.
