Minister to inaugurate Social Solidarity Week

KOCHI: Fisheries Minister S. Sarma will inaugurate the district-level Social Solidarity Week celebrations organised by the State government in connection with Gandhi Jayanti at Kottappuram near here at 10 a.m. on Thursday. “Alcohol free family, alcohol free Keralam,” is the theme for this year.

V.D. Satheeshan, MLA, will preside over the function to be held at S.N. Auditorium. The minister will also inaugurate the Scheduled Caste development office being set up in the block panchayat.

N.S. Saseendran, Assistant District Scheduled Caste Development Officer, will hold a class on various development projects for the community members. This will be followed by a community lunch.

Awareness seminars, rallies, medical camps, inauguration of various schemes, and distribution of financial aid would be organised throughout the week. MP, MLAs, District Panchayat President, District Collector and officials will speak.
