It will comprise shows ranging from science, technology, history, natural world, adventure and exploration. Viewers will undertake a refreshing, insightful and uncharted journey into the real world. Well positioned to raise the benchmark of television programming, it will be one of the biggest, boldest and most spectacular entertainment shows, according to Rahul Johri, a top official of the channel. The line-up includes the dramatic story of NASA’s 50 years of space explorations in a landmark series ‘When we left earth: The NASA Missions’. The programme captures 50 years of NASA missions right from the first space walk and moon-landing, showcasing rare images filmed by astronauts themselves and captured by cameras onboard the spaceships. Another show to be aired in the series is Future Weapons. Intelligent weapon systems such as unmanned aerial vehicles, weapons made for urban combat, weapons that strike back are among the featured weapons. The science and technology that goes into making these weapons will be showcased. ‘Man Vs Wild’, another programme in the series, will have footage of survival methods demonstrated by adventurer and explorer Bear Grylls in extreme locations around the world. Grylls’ feats include climbing steep ice-covered mountains and braving flash floods, to eating raw insects and even a yak’s eyeball. In the ‘Story of India’, the ancient past of India is in focus. How did India come to be? Who were the first Indians? These are some of the big questions which lay at the heart of the series. The series is narrated by historian Michael Wood.
