Pawan sparkles
Chennai: K.B. Pawan struck a 270-ball 166 to take KSCA to 305 for four, on the first day of the Inter-State South Zone under-22 cricket match against Andhra for the P. Ramachandra Rao Trophy at Pachaiyappa’s on Wednesday.
The opening batsman put on 219 runs for the second wicket with skipper Ganesh Satish, who made 107. Pawan’s innings comprised 21 fours and two sixes, while Ganesh hit 11 boundaries.
Half-centuries by openers L. Surya Prakash and Abhinav Mukund helped TNCA reach 258 for five at the end of the first day, at ICL Gurunanak.
Surya Prakash scored 85, and put on 99 runs with Abhinav in 26 overs.
Left-arm spinner Badal Singh claimed four wickets for 86 runs.

At Pachaiyappa’s: KSCA 305 for four in 90 overs (K.B. Pawan 166, Ganesh Satish 107) vs Andhra.
At CPT-IP: Kerala 124 in 57.3 overs (Abhishek Hegde 63) vs Hyderabad 92 for one in 30 overs (Akshath Reddy 53 batting).
At ICL Gurunanak: TNCA 258 for five in 90 overs (L. Surya Prakash 85, Abhinav Mukund 56, V. Maaruthi Ragav 48 batting, Badal Singh four for 86).
