NEW DELHI: The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry is set to launch an all-India toll free number and cells across the country to address consumer grievances over securing LPG connections and cylinders and in the matter of availability of petrol, diesel and kerosene. “We have delivered what had been promised a month ago. All the three oil marketing companies will be launching their services from tomorrow [Thursday] to put in place a grievance redress mechanism,” said Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora. The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) would separately provide toll-free numbers for registration of complaints and for follow-up action. Contact numbersFor complaints relating to IOC, customers can dial 18002333555 from anywhere in the country. For complaints relating to BPCL, the toll-free number is 1800222725. HPCL has provided two numbers: 18002333777 for complaints relating to LPG and 18002333999 for complaints relating petrol and diesel. The call centres will be operationalised region-wise to facilitate customers lodging complaints in local language.
