G. Janardhan Reddy BELLARY: The Police have submitted a “B” report in connection with the case registered against G. Janardhan Reddy, Minister for Tourism and mine owner, in Toranagal police station on Monday. Superintendent of Police Seemant Kumar Singh told presspersons on Wednesday that the machinery was seized by the Forest Department and being a custodian of the seized property, a complaint should have been filed by the concerned official of the Forest Department. Prior to the Department filing a complaint, Tapal Chandrashekar had filed a complaint accusing the Minister of provocating his men to take away the seized machinery. In view of the technical flaws noticed in the procedure of registering complaint lodged by Tapal Chandrashekar, and that too when the Forest Department had lodged its complaint, “B” report was submitted to the Magistrate in Sandur and permission was taken to the close the file pertaining to that case, he said.. According to the complaint lodged with the Toranagal Police by Tapal Chandrashekar of the TNR mines, a few persons from the OMC (owned by Janardhan Reddy), entered TNR mining area, allegedly assaulted a security guard and took away the Volvo-290, and some machinery by loading it on a trailer, and two walkie-talkie sets, towards Vitlapur forest area through Hind Traders, an adjacent mining area. Chandrashekar had also accused Janardhan Reddy of “provocating” his men for the assault, theft and robbery and wanted the police to register a case against the Minister besides providing security to the staff of TNR mines and his family members. The Tornagal police had registered a case against the Minister and others. Meanwhile, the complaint filed by an official of the Forest Department has accused Tapal Ganesh, M. Diwakar Babu, former Minister and Congress leader, and a few others of obstructing him while discharging his duty from shifting the seized machinery (proclainer) from the mines area to the police station. TransferredNandeesh, sub-Inspector of Toranagal police station, has been transferred for not following the procedures while registering a complaint given against the Minister. Nandeesh had taken charge only a week ago. Confirming the transfer, Mr. Singh said that the SI should have verified the facts, visited the spot before registering a complaint given by Chandrashekar and should have asked the Forest Department, which is the custodian of the seized machinery, to lodge a complaint.
