CHENNAI: Vocal artist A. Kandhasamy was honoured with the 2008 “Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Birthday Commemoration Award” at a function organised here on Wednesday to mark the 128th birth anniversary of Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad.
The award, instituted by the Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Memorial Trust, comprises a citation, a plaque of honour and a purse of Rs.1 lakh in recognition of Mr. Kandhasamy’s service to the growth of Tamizh Isai.
