Commanding win for City XI

BANGALORE: Combined City XI defeated Bangalore City XI by ten wickets in a KSCA under-19 inter-zonal tournament match that concluded here on Tuesday.

The scores: Bangalore City XI 207 in 62.5 overs and 95 in 31.2 overs (Hardik Munoth four for 35) lost to Combined City XI 251 in 53.4 overs (S. Nishanth 72, Monish Cariappa five for 39) and 55 for no loss in 6.5 overs.

Moffusil XI 209 in 63.2 overs and 35 for two in 10 overs drew with President’s XI 298 in 85.1 overs (Shivam Bajaj 74, S. Rohit 42, Ronith More eight for 124).

Bangalore Zone XI 193 in 57.2 overs and 150 for four in 35 overs (Sanjay Kumar 93) drew with Combined Moffusil XI 321 in 66.3 overs (Muralikrishna 137, Rajesh Singh five for 78).

Chitra wins

Chitra Magimairaj prevailed over R. Umadevi in an intense contest to lift the State women’s billiards tournament.

At the KSBA hall here on Tuesday, Chitra won at 33-76, 75-65, 76-45, 70-76, 76-61.

The results (Final): Chitra M bt R. Umadevi 33-76, 75-65, 76-45, 70-76, 76-61. Semifinals: R. Umadevi bt Lakshmi Suryanarayan 75-55, 75-48; Chitra M bt Indira Gowda 75-32, 76-54.

For third place: Lakshmi Suryanarayan bt Indira Gowda 51-36, 24-50, 55-45.

Nine-wicket win

Manjunath’s five-wicket haul and D. Nischal’s unbeaten 74 guided Presidency School, Nandini Layout, to a nine-wicket victory over Vidyaniketan School in a Boost Cup under-16 tournament match here on Tuesday.

The scores: Vidyaniketan School 135 in 42 overs (Pushkar 59, Manjunath five for 23) lost to Presidency School 137 for one in 21.4 overs (D. Nischal 74 n.o.).

KE Board’s HS Dharwad 170 for eight in 45 overs (Samarth Ooty 79) bt SJBHS 93 in 29.3 overs.

CKS English Med. HS Hassan 112 in 19 overs (Kumaraswamy 51 n.o., Abhishek five for 36) lost to Ryan International School 113 for three in 21 overs.

Presidency School RT Nagar 138 in 37.5 overs (Aman Raj 50) bt JIRS 74 in 23.3 overs (Rehan Ali four for 37).

Sri Aurobindo Mem. School (Central) 182 for nine in 42 overs bt Army Public School 159 in 37.1 overs (K. Vipin 50).
