Additional wheat for States

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI:To check inflationary trends of foodgrains in the open market, the Centre has decided to release on “ad hoc” basis of additional two lakh tonnes of wheat per month for the Above Poverty Line (APL) beneficiaries to various states and union territories from October to December.

“This has also been done keeping in view requests of state/union territories governments and the comfortable stock position of wheat in the central pool,” said an official press release.
