Stolen gold coins recovered

CHENNAI: Thirteen gold coins reported missing from a house in Mylapore here were recovered from two rag pickers in the area on Monday.

Police said V. Sadasivam (55) of New Street, a milk agent, had lodged a complaint that 13 gold coins and Rs.20,000 in cash were stolen from his house after suspected burglars broke in on September 18.

A special team formed to investigate the case, picked up two rag pickers in the locality on suspicion.

Interrogation

On interrogation the duo– J. Jeeva (21) of Ice House and S.Krishnamurthy (20) of Thoraipakkam, confessed to have committed the theft.

The accused were produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody.
