Cardiology meet in Kochi

KOCHI: The fifteenth annual conference of Indian College of Cardiology will be held at the Le Meridian Convention Centre in Kochi from October 2 to 4. According to organising secretary K.K. Haridas, hundreds of scientific papers will be presented during the conference and a number of experts including those from abroad would participate in the deliberations.

Scientific sessions on diabetes and cardiovascular risks, atrial fibrillation, trends in vascular intervention and guest lecture on issues in cardiovascular care would be held during the opening day. Live endovascular intervention workshop would be a highlight on October 2.

The main scientific sessions will feature discussions on heart failure in infants and children, chronic valvular heart diseases, echocardiography in coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease etc. The valedictory day will be marked by symposia on heart failure, basic science lectures chronic rheumatic heart disease etc.

Dr Ben Delemarre of The Hague, Prof Helmut Dietmar Glogar of University of Vienna, Prof Pim de Feyter of Rotterdam and Dr Thomas Mathew, consultant cardiologist of Nottingham,U.K., are among the international faculty of the conference.
