Chiru’s remark angers Congress
HYDERABAD: The Congress has taken objection to the criticism of Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi on land acquisition for special economic zones and his charge that the government has been acting as a “broker” in land deals.
The ruling party leaders also criticised Mr. Chiranjeevi for his appreciation of the Gujarat model of land acquisition while allotting land for SEZs. “The SEZ proposed in Gandhinagar has failed as the Gujarat government has forcibly acquired land from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes without giving them proper compensation, All-India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary looking after Gujarat affairs P.
