Set Alight impresses

Pune: Set Alight impressed when the horses were exercised here on Monday morning (Sept. 29).

Sand track:

800m: Highland Magic (Jethu) 55, 600/40. Easy. Set Alight (M.Narredu) 48.5, 600/36.5. Moved attractively. Red Romeo (Jethu) 58, 600/43. Easy.

1000m: Our Excellencee (W.Smith) 1-7, 800/53.5, 600/41.5. Shaped well. Modesty (Lisa Jones) 1-12, 600/45. Easy. Winning Treat (W.Smith), On My Way (Lisa Jones) 1-9, 800/54.5, 600/42. Former finished four lengths ahead. True Elegance (Merchant) 1-7, 800/52, 600/39. Moved well. Zarzaitine (S.Fargeat), Yamuna (Merchant) 1-5, 600/40.5. They moved neck and neck freely.

1200m: Wishful Thinking (Kapoor) 1-25, 1000/1-9.5, 800/54, 600/41. Urged. Gruezi (S.Fargeat) 1-24, 1000/1-8, 600/40. Moved freely.

Gate practice (sand track):

1000m: Memorable Day (rb), Fearless Blaze (rb) 1-11.5, 800/55.5, 600/43. Former ended four lengths in front. Master Craft (rb) 1-11, 800/54, 600/40.5. Moved well. 2/y/o River Memories (Baandal), Oyster Gem (Shelar) 1-8.5, 800/52.5, 600/40.5. They moved level freely. On The Rocks (N.Jodha), Ecstatica (Hamir) 1-11.5, 600/42.5. Former finished three lengths ahead. Stellar Affair (Kharadi), Argentina (Parmar) 1-6.5, 800/52.5, 600/41. Former finished well clear.

Mock race: Sept. 28. (race track):

1200m: Solskjaer (Baandal), Marmaris (S.S.Rathore), Arabian Guest (Shelar), Lucky Honey (I.Shaikh) and Solu (Ranjane) 1-13.5, 600/37. Won by: 4l, 1/2, 2l. Solskjaer won the race comfortably.

Mock race: Sept. 27. (race track):

1000m: Rockeby Venus (M.Narredu), Sea Sparrow (Merchant), Aristrocratic (A.Qureshi), Versaki (C.Rajendra), Dancing Queen (Shammi), Rio Del Ray (Kharadi) and Sardinia (Zameer) 1-3.5, 600/37. Won by: 1-1/4, 3L, 4L. Rockeby Venus who was racing second throughout the race covered the ground in the straight and won well. All are 2/y/os.

1200m: Devilitto (I.Shaikh), Step By Step (S.Fargeat), Saddlers Rule (N.Jodha) and Blue Vision (Hamir) 1-15, 600/37. Won by: 1/2, Dist, Dist. Devilitto and Step By Step fought out in the straight and Devilitto won the race. Other two were not urged and finished distance behind.

1600m: Phenomenale (C.Rajendra), Recardo (M.Narredu), Blue Mountain (Neeraj) and Sentinell (P.S.Chouhan) 1-40, 600/35. Won by: 6l, 4l, 1/2. Phenomenale who was last till the bend came with a rattle on the outside and outclassed the companions. One to note.
