Chitra, Umadevi advance

BANGALORE: Twice World billiards champion Chitra Magimairaj and former national champion R. Umadevi won their league matches to ease into the semifinal stage of the Ladies State ranking billiards championship on Monday.

Chitra and Lakshmi Suryanarayan advanced into the last four from Group B while Umadevi and Indira Hegde moved up from Group A.

The results: Group B: Ladies billiards (League): Lakshmi Suryanarayanan bt Indira Hegde 50-43, 50-41; Chitra Magimairaj bt Mandip Kaur 50-41, 51-33; Chitra bt Indira Hegde 51-35, 50 -25; Lakshmi Suryanarayanan bt Mandip Kaur 50-26, 50-29; Indira Hegde bt Mandeep Kaur 50-29, 52-29; Chitra bt Lakshmi Suryanarayan 53-23, 50-17.

Group A: R. Uma Devi bt Matilda Fernandes 51-18, 52-20; Indira Gowda bt Bhanumathi Mendon 50-31, 51-42; Indira Gowda bt Matilda Fernandes 51-36, 47-51, 50-44; Bhanumathi Mendon bt Matilda Fernandes 51-16, 27-50, 50-47; R. Uma Devi bt Indira Gowda 50-03, 51-09.
