Guruvayur: A ‘beedi’ was found in the ‘naivedyam’ (offering) prepared at the Guruvayur Sreekrishna Temple on Monday. The beedi was found in ‘Sarkara Naivedyam’ when it was being taken from Thidappally to the Sreekovil (sanctum sanctorum). ‘Naivedyam’ was later prepared afresh and offered to the deity. Guruvayur Devaswom Administrator V. Ratheesan said the temple rites were delayed after the beedi was found. Monthly purification rites were performed at the shrine on Monday. — Staff Reporter
