BELLARY: Twenty-five people, including a few women, were taken ill following an attack of gastroenteritis in Telugoli village, under the Tambrahalli Public Health Centre in Hagari Bommanahalli taluk on Monday. The consumption of contaminated water was said to be the cause for the disease. It was suspected that the water contamination occurred on account of damage to a casing pipe of a borewell in the village. Jayakumar, District Health Officer, told The Hindu that since morning, people in the village came to the ANM sub-centre complaining of diarrhoea. After preliminary treatment, they were taken to the Tambrahalli PHC for further care.
