Private buses to stay off road in Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: Private buses will stay off the roads on September 30 as a sign of protest to demand hike in bus fare. The buses will not run from 12 a.m. on September 30 to 6 p.m. on September 30. The Pondicherry Bus (State Carriage) Owner’s Association, in a release, said private bus operators have been demanding for hike in bus fare for the last 5 years but the government had not fulfilled their demand.
