KOCHI: A group of four youngsters will set out on the road for a “freedom walk” this Gandhi Jayanthi day. The idea is doing society good even while having fun hitting the road together. The walk aimed at spreading the message of social, environmental and software activism and mobilising volunteers will be launched from Kasargod. “We are expecting to finish the walk at Thiruvananthapuram in 45 days,” Anoop John, the mastermind behind the campaign, says. A website www.freedomwalk.in has been hosted for disseminating information on the walk. Interested people can enlist themselves for the walk through a mailing list - freedomwalk@googlegroups.com - and can also get the latest updates of the walk once the volunteers hit the road. Anyone sensitive to the stated objectives can participate in the walk either for the entire stretch or in selected stretches according to their convenience. As they gear up for the walk, all the four youngsters are excited about the challenges it poses.
