Panic over suitcase in theatre

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A motorcycle parked along with a suitcase at Odeon theatre in RTC crossroads on Sunday triggered panic among audiences.

An electrician Sardar, a resident of Banjara Hills, parked the vehicle at the entrance and went to perform prayers at a nearby mosque. The security guards got suspicious and started enquiring about the vehicle ownership with audiences. As no one confirmed its ownership, guards alerted the police who pressed Bomb Disposal (BD) team into service.

By the time the BD team reached the spot, Sardar came to the theatre and told police that the vehicle belonged to him.

He said that he came to meet the theatre manager for payment. Police later released him after verifying his antecedents.
