Many TDP leaders not averse to Telangana

HYDERABAD: A majority of the TDP leaders are not averse if the leadership decides to take a positive stand on Telangana and align with the TRS in the next elections if it is in the interests of the party.

The leaders expressed their views to the core committee constituted by the party to examine the issue during the second day of its hearing on Sunday. More than 60 of the 130 State committee members gave their views while the remaining are likely to meet the panel members on Monday.

The core committee, it is learnt, has come to a conclusion that the TDP being a regional party would not be in a position of carving out a separate State on its own. The panel is said to be considering various options including withdrawal of the letter addressed to Pranab Mukherjee panel constituted by the UPA favouring integrated State.
