Teenager electrocuted

CHENNAI: A teenager was electrocuted at the Ambedkar Mani Mandapam, near Adyar Creek on Sunday, after she accidentally came in contact with a live wire.

The incident happened around 7.30 p.m. when the victim, R. Bhavani (16), had gone to Mandapam with her uncle and grandmother.

Beneath grass lawn

The wire that was connected to a light was drawn beneath the grass lawn on which she was sitting.

The Standard X student was a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar, Abhiramapuram, the police said.

Following the incident, she was rushed by her relatives to a private hospital nearby where she was declared brought dead.
