Leading SC poets to be felicitated

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Sant Ravidas Charitable Trust floated by former Special Representative of the State government in New Delhi and Jadcharla MLA Mallu Ravi will felicitate four leading SC poets here on October 2.

Recognising the contribution of the poets in creating awareness among the SCs through their writings, the Trust has decided to felicitate them by presenting ‘Ganda panderam’ at a function in Ravindra Bharati on Gandhi Jayanti, according to Mr. Mallu Ravi.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said Goreti Venkanna, Vangapandu Prasada Rao, Gooda Anjaiah and Gogula Shyamala, who have excelled in Telugu literature through their thought provoking writings, would be honoured.

Three books – ‘Dalit Sahitya Vadam – Joshua’, ‘Ambedkar, Marx and Phule’ and ‘Dalitula Charitra’ – authored by leading writer Kathi Padma Rao would be released on the occasion.
