TDP demands review of Bhu Bharati
HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam party has demanded that the government review the implementation of the Bhu Bharati land survey programme and rectify the lapses that surfaced in the micro pilot project at Shadnagar mandal in Mahabubnagar district.
The TDP wanted the government to stop works on the project based on the aerial photographs of the land immediately and take the views of all political parties before going ahead with it. “There is no sanctity to the project that has been launched without taking the Assembly into confidence,” TDP spokesman and MP M.V. Mysoora Reddy said.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Dr. Mysoora Reddy alleged that works of the project had been entrusted to firms at the “whims and fancies” of the then Land Administration Commissioner. The Rs. 1,500 crore project, he said, was benefiting those close to the official on the one hand while fuelling differences between land owners in the places where it was launched.
Dr. Reddy refused to reply when asked whether the party’s core committee on Telangana had arrived at a conclusion on the issue.
