Senior BJP leaders’ meetings to be webcast

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: All conferences of senior Barathiya Janata Party leaders will henceforth be telecast on the web at www.bjp.org/webcast, said Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Member of Parliament.

He was speaking at a press conference on Sunday held after the third National Convention of the BJP IT Cell.

The proceedings of the Convention were webcast on a trial basis and monitored at nine locations, said Mr. Rudy. He said that it was the first time that a political party organised a convention which was webcast.

Talking about the terrorist attacks in the capital, Mr. Rudy said that the UPA government wants to debate terror while the BJP tries to strike and defeat it. He said that the BJP is committed to a zero-tolerance principle towards terror and would revive the POTA or any such law to fight terror if it comes to power.

He said that along with terrorism, the other issues the BJP would focus at the next Lok Sabha election would be infiltration, appeasement, inflation and farmers’ distress.
