Civic workers seek arrears

KOZHIKODE: The Corporation Thozhilali Samyukta Samara Samithi (City Corporation workers’ joint protest council) has threatened to launch protests against the alleged delay in payment of wage arrears.

A meeting of the council here on Saturday said the Corporation authorities had not kept the promise of paying the arrears.

The council said the Mayor had assured its members that the first instalment would be paid in December 2007 and the second in January or February. The committee would protest if the arrears were not paid by October 15.
