KCP wins

KOCHI: Kochi City Police defeated Palakkad District by 42 runs and won the eighth Kerala Police cricket tournament which concluded at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Saturday.

Kochi’s Shejil was named as man of the tournament and the best wicketkeeper while Palakkad’s Mohammed Sherif, who scored 55 runs in the final, was adjudged as man of the final. Palakkad’s N. Girish won the best batsman award and Ernakulam’s G.S. Arun picked the best bowler prize.

The scores: Kochi City Police 169 for eight in 30 overs bt Palakkad 127 in 22.3 (Mohammed Sherif 55). — Principal Correspondent
